Be Outside as Much as Possible

For many college graduates, their next step will include reporting to an office. So for those of you who aren’t pursuing an outdoorsy career, enjoy these rare moments when you can chill outside for hours in the middle of the week. Pick up a hammock so you can post-up in the Diag or the Arb, throw on some Ray Bans and don’t forget to bring your Swell – you didn’t hear it from us… but the larger swells hold up to a bottle of wine.

Eagles Nest Double Nest Hammock, Ray Ban Wayfarer, Swell Water Bottle

Enjoy the Perks of Being a Student

While nothing beats getting half off your Spotify subscription, there are other perks to being a student that you should take advantage of while you can. Take a bus to North Campus and enjoy the beauty regularly available for engineers and art students. Sit in on a random class – this is one of the top public universities in the country. Go to a free sports game using your MCard and cheer on your fellow Wolverines. Also there’s bound to be plenty of free food opportunities during graduation season and finals besides complimentary bagels and coffee on Welcome Wednesdays – which we will miss dearly.

Finally Make it Through Your Restaurant and Bar Checklist

First, the “eats”. During your last few weeks as an undergrad, make sure you revisit the tried and true favorites as well as visiting a few new and unique spots. We suggest Spencer, Miss Kim, and Frita Batido’s for something more unique and Zingerman’s Deli, Fleetwood Diner, and Sava’s to get your fill with a side of nostalgia.

Next, drinks. Again, you don’t have much time to visit all the bars you said you would. Revisit the classics: Dominick’s, Ann Arbor Brewing Co., and of course you can’t forget Charley’s. Also test your palate with something like a specialty cocktail from The Last Word, spiked punch from The Bar at 327 Braun Court, and pickleback shots at Mash.

Take Graduation Photos with Your Friends

While trees and flowers have yet to bloom in this prolonged Michigan Winter, you can still get some picturesque portrait backgrounds from some of the University of Michigan’s iconic architecture and landmarks. Plan to recruit a friend with camera skills or hire a photographer to capture your celebratory moment. Our top picks for photo locations are the Law Quad, the Union, Angell Hall, Nickels Arcade, and of course if you’re able to book it, the Big House. Make sure to pick locations that capture your time at the university.

Lastly, look to the future

Now that you’re done reminiscing, it’s time to move forward. So stock up on the stuff you need for work…

And play…
